zetech university izetProf. Peter Berachesebe Kibas is a Professor of Entrepreneurship and Management. He is the current Dean of the School of Business and Economics besides chairing the Izet Hub Ideas and Innovations Committee. Prior to joining Zetech in 2018, Prof. Kibas held various senior leadership positions including: Vice Chancellor, Presbyterian University of East Africa; Deputy Vice Chancellor (A&F) Kabarak University; Visiting Scholar at the University of Cape Coast (Ghana), University of Eastern Africa Baraton and the Marist International University College; Professor and the founding Director of the Center for Excellence in Entrepreneurship Development (CEED) at the United States International University (USIU-Africa); Director/Principal of the School of Management at the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) and Principal Administrative Officer Moi University. He is a Fellow of the Kenya Institute of Management (FKIM), a member of the International Council for Small Business (ICSB) of USA and a member of the Institute of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ISBE) in the UK. He also holds board membership positions in various non-profit organization, the latest being a Trustee in the Covenant Foundation NGO.

Peter holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in entrepreneurship (1995) and a Master’s degree in Vocational/Business and Technical Training (1987) both from the University of Illinois (at Urbana Champaign, USA); his Bachelor’s degree is in Business Education from the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, Canada (1981). Prof. Kibas began his career as a secondary school teacher in May 1974 after obtaining an S1-teachers Certificate (Diploma) in 1973 from Kenyatta University College (now Kenyatta University). Prof. Kibas has wide experience in research, teaching and management consultancy which spans over 38 years altogether; having started as a secondary school teacher in 1974. He has taught at Moi University, USIU, Kabarak, Marist International University College, University of Eastern Africa (UEAB) Kenyatta, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Presbyterian University of East Africa, University of Cape Coast (Ghana) and currently at Zetech. He is also well published with other 30 papers in journals and chapters of books in his area of specialization.

Peter has pioneered in a number of innovations including: developing the first Master’s degree program in Entrepreneurship in the Institute of Human Resource Development (IHRD) at Moi University (1999); establishing the Centre of Excellence in Entrepreneurship Development (CEED) at USIU (2002); and a number of Income Generation Activities at the Presbyterian University of East Africa (2015). He hasalso consulted for various organizations/institutions locally and internationally. He has been involved in designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating development programs and projects in the Micro and Small Enterprise sector for various institutions/organizations locally and internationally. These include: the UNDP, the World Bank, the ILO, IFC, Jamii Bora Trust, Techno-Serve Kenya, the British Council, Action Aid Kenya, the World Vision, the Kenya Institute of Management and the Government of Kenya among others. His research interests are in the Youth and Women Innovation and entrepreneurship.
