Mr. Cyrus Baraza is enthusiastic IT Specialist with 10+ years’ experience including 6 years with a major Media House. A graduate of Bsc. Computer Science from Kenyatta University and Master of Science from KCA University in Data Communications. Professional specialization in Information Security and Assurance through certifications; Certified Information Systems Auditor(CISA) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and an active member of ISACA. Attended University of Turku online certificate training on “Building African Entrepreneurial Universities in the Context of Responsible Innovations and Sustainable Development” course sponsored by United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.
Mr. Cyrus Baraza has offered his services in different capacities; worked with Broadcast Solutions International (BSI) Ltd, as a Systems Integrator by providing cost effective Broadcast and Media solutions across the East African region. He also worked with Nation Media Group (NMG) a leading Media house in Africa, where he got involved in maintaining high performing service support functions including; IT Service Desk, IT Broadcasting Operations and Network Infrastructure operations, and a company champion for digital migration and digital first strategies.
At Zetech University Mr. Cyrus Baraza serves as the University IT Manager a role which as seen him achieve and deliver a dividend paying digital transformation including but not limited to; successful rollout of a new MIS system for the University, improved online presence and Learning (Website, portals and Learning Management system), improved internet connectivity and installation of a new University fiber based Local Area Network Backbone, modern Computer Laboratories with Smart boards and a hybrid classroom with Video learning.
Mr. Cyrus Baraza also finds joy in sharing knowledge and on adjunct basis as been able to successfully teach students at Zetech University and USIU-A, and he is also greatly involved in the management of the iZet Innovation Hub as a committee member where his input as enabled the students to participate in different activities involving innovation and Entrepreneurship in and out of campus.
